Somatic therapy is a gentle, evidence-informed approach that recognises the close relationship between the mind, body, and nervous system.

In my work, I support clients to understand that experiences such as stress, trauma, or ongoing emotional strain are often held not only in thoughts and memories, but also in the body. This can show up as persistent tension, anxiety, low mood, fatigue, chronic pain, or a feeling of being disconnected or stuck, even when there is a clear intellectual understanding of what has happened.

Rather than focusing solely on talking, somatic therapy works with present-moment bodily awareness. Together, we gently notice sensations, breath, posture, and patterns of activation or settling within the nervous system. This process helps the body gradually release stored stress and supports greater regulation, resilience, and a sense of safety.
